The Chinese New Year's Day for 2011 is on February 3rd. It stands for the
beginning of a Chinese New Year according to the lunar calendar, and is
considered as the most important day for family and friends by most
Chinese people.
As a tradition, we, the Chinese Student and Scholar Association at UC San
Diego, are going to have our annual celebration for the coming Chinese New
Year this SUNDAY, February 6th. The gala would include Traditional Chinese performance such as lion
dancing, singing, traditional Chinese dancing, talk show, etc. Most of the
performances will be in the language of Chinese.
Admission is free. Friends from all countries and backgrounds are
welcome.
[gsareps-l] Committee Vacancies: UCAB, SSAC, CAIT
Dear Reps,
I now have three additional committee vacancies to fill. The most
important of these vacancies is on the University Centers Advisory
Board (UCAB). UCAB oversees the University Centers, the office which
manages both the Price Center and the Student Center. It is a majority
student-run advisory board, which oversees the use of fee money.
Indeed, a proposed fee referendum vetted by UCAB will enter into
debate at the next council meeting.
